Damn, watching those passes go through with ease and speed was surprising but so cool, it'd look so effortless.

It's interesting the announcement Fukuda had for them was about the Youth's team handicap, I was wondering if he was going to give them advice but depending on how they interpret the announcement it'll boast or decrease their morale. I'm sure a good portion of them will feel demotivated but I believe at least Ashito will see it as a good chance as they could find openings if they play right.

Akutsu's a real jerk though, I wonder why he's so high and mighty and even going as far as to really injure Ashito, I'm so glad Ashito didn't back down to give him that satisfaction. Is he worried with more people joining his position will be threatened or something? Is he so proud because he was the only one that made last year's tryout and became a starter in his first year? He needs to calm down.

Love the animation by prod ig , looks really promising so far

Archie Andrew's 1000 • 2 years ago

Indeed it does.

Time. • 2 years ago

That’s Studio IG for you!

Archie Andrew's 1000 • 2 years ago

Yep

Darius • 2 years ago

Man I'm on the opposite side, I don't like what they've done.

The poses are stiff, and more than not, the anatomy is off. There are a lot of still frames and you can see the reliance on CG. I don't know if there is a lack of manpower or the studio is insanely busy, but they cut a looot of corners, a lot of cuts have less than 5 keyframes.

Of course, I'm not saying the animation is "bad", it's just not "great". For a normal adaptation, I probably wouldn't have even typed this comment, but I was really hyped for this series so I feel a little let down ngl. Out of 10, I'd probably give it a 6.

Sprayquaza • 2 years ago

for a football anime , you either have to go CG or cut a lot of budget where you can to save it for , you know THE MATCHES. Haikyuu is kind of an oddball because the female fans made it too popular hence it was profitable enough to up the budget.

Shystral • 2 years ago

exact the same thing, hope for future stuff on how are they gonna be animated

Kirito • 1 year ago

The animation of this anime is much better than futsal boys
Also that one touch is so smooth they can't keep up because the ball keeps getting pass so fast

Yonko • 2 years ago

A 6 3 episodes in. People and being reactionary man

Kirito • 1 year ago

Yeah that guy is such a good actor he acts like a nice guy and always smile nice but is actually a d9ûch3bag

Darius • 2 years ago

Why so aggressive? I'm not insulting the studio, I'm just judging based on what I see. I'm not calling the studio or the team itself a 6/10, I'm saying the episodes so far have been a 6/10. I don't think I've typed anything unreasonable there?

Yonko • 2 years ago

Not being aggressive. It just doesnt ratea show when you have seen less of quarter of the episodes in the season and havent even seen it go all out on animation. Sports anime start out slow and speed up just like Haikyuu.

Darius • 1 year ago

What you mean by go "all out" are sakuga scenes where they usually commission a professional keyframer to animate a scene, and then have in-betweeners and clean up artists come after to polish the scene. They're not a good representation of the overall animation quality nor the studio's competency. (In other terms, Studios like KyoAni have consistently good animation even for the most mundane scenes) I also disagree with the comparison to Haikyuu, I rewatched the first episode to ensure I wasn't being biased, but even the pilot episode was a lot more consistent. There's less glaring anatomical errors and over-reliance on stillframes, though it's nowhere near a high frame-rate, the movement isn't rigid. I'm not saying the animation in Haikyuu was OPM-season-1-level, but Ao Ashi so far just isn't on the same level.

Of course, I can say all this and these are just words to you without visual reference. And maybe even with visual references, it's not easy to notice these points if you don't have an animation background. I just want to end off with; I am not rating the whole show a 6. Nor am I rating the studio a 6. I am rating the animation so far a 6. Big difference.

Inazuma tho

Kirito • 1 year ago

They're playing in a position that is a handicap

AnalBAg • 2 years ago

Manga reader here, just wanna say in case the anime doesn't cover far enough Akutsu is actually well written and isn't just a jerk for no reason. Not sure if the anime will get round to his full backstory cos it's quite far into the manga but basically he's from a really rough background which makes him prideful and super competitive, not gonna reveal more than that. Look forward to it if it does come he's one of the best characters imo.

Krazy_Kirby • 2 years ago

doesn't excuse deliberately attacking his ribs

Jspfrr • 2 years ago

nothing excuses his bad behaviour, I'm pretty sure we (manga readers) all hated him at that point lol. his backstory doesn't justify his actions it just explains his personality...like he had a really shitty life with nearly no good people around him so he grew up aggressive and mistrustful. We say he's really well written because despite his shitty personality he's also complex...and he doesn't magically become a good guy either. His personality's still the same, he just does some growing up!

Kirito • 1 year ago

The girl did say he's an outlaw he really has that nasty personality and villains makes the anime more interesting even tho we don't like that guy

Zohoro • 2 years ago

You people say that but we all initially hate bakugo from my hero academia and akutsu is EXACTLY like bakugo but you will not see it until season 2 at least

KhiArt • 2 years ago

I literally dont give af about Bakugo he was a jerk from the start to the end idc and its the same for guy, you guys gotta have an inferiority complex to excuse those acts lmfaooo

Kirito • 1 year ago

Ashito got his rib smashed and ashito wants to make that senpai guy lift ashito what a nice revenge

QuadL • 2 years ago

He probably got butt hurt that this kid from the sticks was right in his face and didn't give him props for his rep. Like a kid from the sticks would even know who he is...

Zohoro • 2 years ago

You are 100% wrong dummy

Glinda • 2 years ago

Exactly!

Shadow234walker • 2 years ago

thought something like that would be the background

wwlaos • 2 years ago

That one-touch passing is some utterly ridiculous flexing. For an entire team to have that level of passing accuracy is borderline unrealistic.

... • 2 years ago

ye dunno what hurt Akutsu. Hope he is not an asshole for the sake of it though.

Time. • 2 years ago

Akutsu was just making me mad this whole episode I can’t even stand his face, especially that jerk and cocky smile he has lol

I completely forgot this anime airs today too tho! But this one airs very late at night for me, usually around 4pm in the night. Almost forgot to watch this one that’s why! And I love football/soccer

Zack D. • 2 years ago

His so f in trash

Nikai • 2 years ago

why do people give a synopsis of the show as if we didn't watch the whole thing already? 🤣

Jay Veloso Paasa • 2 years ago

Akutsu is not really trying to injure ashito, cuz his real position is a defender. 😆 if you know football just think ramos or pepe… and fukuda put them on forward position 😂🤣

Yonko • 2 years ago

I know football and the guys tou mentioned purposefully tried to injure player's lol.

Jessica • 2 years ago

Yeah and those 2 are major a-holes so I don't know what your point is

Zohoro • 2 years ago

Akutsu is the GOAT by far the best character just you wait……wait for after a year actually before you actually able see how cool he is 😂

Dragken • 2 years ago

I read the manga and if I was the mc I would try to break his legs.

kloaf123 • 2 years ago

Theres really nothing to make an ass seem cool. He might be slightly redeemed but an ass is still an ass even if you call it a donkey

Albedio • 2 years ago

if Ashito dont back down n continue,he might aggravate his injury n cause irreparable damage to himself.while akusu just pretends that he did it accidentally.whatever the reason,im pretty sure what he did is illegal.
what is the head coach up to?i dont believe he doesnt know this guy's dirty plays.

QuadL • 2 years ago

Akusu seems to be threatened by Ashito's raw talent and the coach may have used Ashito to light a fire under the self inflating Akusu. He might be setting himself up to be chastised by the coach once the game ends anyway. He's out of position as a forward as the coach said so he might just be a defender at heart who is trying too hard to show he can play forward!

Albedio • 2 years ago

The coach shouldnt be risking the safety of a kid to lecture the arrogance of a pro.

Astolfo-kun • 2 years ago

Akutsu is trouble for them, trying to mess with Aoi's head during the match

Zohoro • 2 years ago

Akutsu is the GOAT he is exactly like bakugo like you will see later

Karthik Bhandary • 2 years ago

Douche same as bakugo

QuadL • 2 years ago

But he's not a natural forward, most likely a defender who, luckily for him, is playing against less experienced, lighter players.

Kwarevo • 2 years ago

I can't believe it too he passed haha.
Bunch of teen Vs Tokyo City Esperion Youth

Sprayquaza • 2 years ago

Teens have way more energy and passion trust me , they are the scariest bunch to play.(given that they know what they are doing)

Wasa B • 2 years ago

They have the energy and passion, but they dont have much experience. People who are in their 20s are the scariest. They still have energy, passion is there, and also the skills they gained from their teenage years

Sprayquaza • 2 years ago

Yes i agree , Tho given enough training , a teen is as good as an adult and losing to teens is way more of an embarresment too XD
